Insulation batts
Count batts from the area you are covering and the area of one batt.
Formula. batts = round up( area (m²) ÷ area of one batt (m²) )
Assumptions
- The default batt is 1200 mm by 450 mm, which is 0.54 square metres. Change both dimensions if your pack is different. This is an example size, not a product recommendation.
- The count is rounded up. It does not add extra for cuts around hatches, and it does not subtract for downlights.
- It does not check R-value, ventilation clearances or whether a batt is allowed over a downlight.
- Installed prices, where we have them, are on the insulation cost guide. This calculator does not apply those rates.
Results are quantities. This calculator does not produce a price.
